He smiled as he held her in his arms, kissing her once more before pulling her in teasingly. “Well, You tell me love” he smirked as his hand ran down her side. ‘—I made a little picnic for us on the beach— I think you’ll like it.” he moved his hand to hers and smirked “I have a bonfire waiting for us, and we can watch the waves and look at the stars all night if we want”
Charlie relaxed in his arms, returning his smirk as she felt his hand travel down her side. Her eyebrows lifted as he spoke about a picnic and a bonfire and squeezed his hand, happy. “Oh, really? Sound just about perfect if you ask me.”

Aaron had sat Anna while he and harper talked about watching Anna that night. He seemed happy to have a night off— but couldn’t help but feel like Harper was different. He wasn’t sure just what it was, but she just— was. He hugged Harper, thanked her and walked back to their room.He needed this night, they needed a night to relax and just lay in their bed — have a dinner — have a walk — a talk that involved less baby talk. He was just happy that his hard work had paid off. His hard work as a father, and a husband. He looked over at their window and smiled when he saw her sitting on the bed.
He walked in board shorts on and a polo, smiling ear to ear. “You look beautiful— ” he smiled at her before leaning in and kissing her softly. “—And you’re all mine tonight”
As Aaron entered decidedly dress more casually than her, she felt a little silly for dressing up, but her qualms were quieted as he told her she looked beautiful. A smile growing on her lips because he always knew exactly what to say at the right time, she stood and approached him, now very conscious of the fact that if she and Aaron wanted to get carried away, they very well good now that Charlie was medically clear and Anna was being taken care of. She smiled into the soft kiss he placed on her lips and let her fingers trail across his cheek. “You’re amazing,” was all she could utter an then she blushed and looked down. “So what are we going to be up to tonight?”

Charlie drug a curling iron through her hair, making the last ringlet fall into place, and then patted it down. It was her and Aaron’s date night, the first in a very long time, and she wanted to look very nice for him. It was amazing how he’d believed in her and forgiven her for her many mistakes. And for letting her back in Anna’s life as well. The blonde hair blue-eyed baby girl was her rock, and everytime she felt like she was going to fall off the wagon, all she had to do was hold that baby girl close and take a couple of deep breaths, and with time she was calmed. Annabelle had an affinity for reaching up and trying to tug on Charlie’s blonde hair and everytime she did, Charlie got her hand and pretended like she was going to gobble it up, and with time, it made the baby girl coo with happiness. Those coos kept Charlie more sane than she could ever hope for, and it was not only thanks to her, but also to Aaron, who stayed up many a nights both taking care of Anna and working through and having late night conversations with an often insecure Charlie, silencing her words with reassurance and kisses.
After she finished her hair, she continued onto her makeup and then dressed in one of her favorite pink dresses, slipping into some wedges and then threw a cardigan on top of it. Though the beach was from from being proper winter cold, it was still pretty cool and she didn’t want to catch anything for Anna’s sake. Once she felt like she was ready, she moved out of the bathroom, and sat on the bed, rereading the note he had left on her bed that morning. She waited for him to come and find her and begin their date.

Eh, a little. It’s winter back home, right? But it might just be in our heads.
Something like that and probably. Maybe someone’s messing with the weather…
Or maybe we’re not as far from the states as we thought we were.
It’s okay— when I sleep it’ll be your turn. Deal?
Okay, deal. But you have to come cuddle with me whenever you’re able to.

Sleep in babe— I’ve got Anna.
You should be able to sleep in, not me.

He raised his eyebrows and smirked “—whatever— I don’t do an eyebrow thing..” he looked over and chuckled “—Okay— I guess I do— but she has those eyes of yours” he fought back. “The way she looks at me makes me wanna just give her whatever she wants” he laughed “Diaper changes, bottles, toys, money, the car — I’m gonna be such a bad dad” he laughed and looked at her.
Charlie raised her own eyebrows at him as he denied doing any sort of eyebrow thing and smirked as he admitted to it, but then insisted that she had Charlie’s eyes. “My eyes are hazel, not blue.” She corrected him, but still thought she knew what he meant. The way her bright eyes could easily convey what she was feeling without any sort of other expression needed, it was something she had noticed in herself and her sisters. She used to dislike how easily some people could read her because of it. As he claimed that he was going to be such a bad dad, she glanced at him and shook her head. She leaned over a little to kiss his shoulder but then gently nestled herself into his arms, Anna in her own. “You’re going to be a good dad. No, forget that, you’re already a good dad. She’s very lucky to have a dad who cares about her as much as you do.”
